FAQ's

Which geographical areas do you cover?
I am based in Eton near Windsor in Berkshire, but I frequently perform in and around London and the Home Counties. In fact, I can travel anywhere within a two hour journey from London.

How much do you charge?
This depends on the event’s location, duration, and date. My fee is fully inclusive and covers all costs associated with travel, administration, setting up, tuning, packing up, dry-cleaning, harp strings, and instrument insurance. Please contact me for a quote.

Do you bring all the equipment you need?
Yes, I bring my own harp, stool, and music stand. You do not need to provide anything except some space and a spot to park my car! I like to arrive an hour before I am due to start playing so that I have time to unload, move the harp, set-up, tune and change. I do not require amplification as the sound of the harp travels surprisingly well, even in a large hall. I play a full-size, concert grand harp in mahogany made by Salvi. I always wear a beautiful full-length dress but please let me know if there is a colour scheme you would like me to adhere to.

“Thank you for your glorious playing at the Champagne Reception, it really added to the ambience and we won’t do another event without you!”

"Your exquisite harp playing during the signing of the register brought us to tears! Thank you for making our wedding ceremony so special."
Bride and Groom, Hampshire
Can you play outside?
Yes, I can play outside assuming the weather plays ball and you have notified me before the event, although I must be positioned in a completely shaded area and on a smooth, flat surface. All outdoor events must have an alternative indoor location as back-up in case of inclement weather.

I would like a harpist at my wedding but when would you play?
I often play during the signing of the register at both church weddings and civil ceremonies, and I can also play whilst guests arrive, for the entrance of the bride and exit. I can also provide background music during drinks after the ceremony, or during the wedding breakfast. If I play during the reception, I would take a short break of no more than ten minutes every hour. Each wedding is different and I tailor my performance according to the plan of your big day. Please contact me to discuss this in further detail.

Can you change locations?
Yes, I can move the harp from one room to another quite easily although if you would like me to move buildings please let me know at the time of booking so I can plan accordingly.

I would like a specific piece of music – do you take requests?
Yes, I am happy to discuss any specific requirements you have prior to the event, and if there is a certain piece that is not in my repertoire that you would like to hear then I would be happy to learn it. I only ask to be given notice so I can obtain the music in advance. If you would like me to accompany one of your guests, this may be possible although please contact me to discuss this as I would need to rehearse in advance and there may be additional costs involved.

What experience have you had?
I have been performing the harp at weddings and events since I was twelve years old and I have therefore clocked up a serious number of performances! Please see my biography for further details. I am proud to say that in over twenty years of playing the harp, I have never had to cancel an event.

We would like to make a booking - what happens next?
Once we have been in touch by email or phone and we have agreed the particulars for the booking, I will send you a contract to sign and return. I require a non-refundable deposit of 50% of the total fee to secure the booking. The remaining 50% of the fee must be paid within 30 days prior to the event.
